Born out of tradition and selfish ideation, Fins Pro Gear set out on a mission to create a comfortable, performance-based shirt using sustainable materials that feels and looks so good, you might just want to wear it everywhere.
We’re just three guys from St. Louis who have loved to fish ever since we could hold a pole. Our passion for the waters is deeply rooted in our respect for the environment. We set out to create a product that whenever one is sold, it removes plastic waste from our waters and landfills, keeping them clean for not only us, but the game we are after as well.

The year was 2020. Outdoor activities were taking off due to social distancing. Three friends from St. Louis, MO decided what better place to be than on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico fishing. As the trip approached, the friends purchased their fishing apparel from their favorite brands. You know, the ones that are UPF 50 ratings for sun protection, moisture wicking, lightweight and comfortable.
How could such a product exist you might ask?
Well, apparel with those properties are made from 100% polyester. In other words, synthetic plastic fibers that end up in the oceans and landfills…FOREVER.
They paid top dollar for the very specific style of shirts to be worn for a very specific type of activity. Upon returning home, the shirts went into the closet to get lost in the sea (no pun intended) of other shirts to be passed over when looking for the right fit for the occasions of everyday life. Fast forward a year and the story repeats itself. What if the three friends could create a comfortable shirt using sustainable materials without sacrificing the performance qualities of what they were used to? Better yet, what if they created a line of clothing that fits a multi-function capability for use to meet the demands of everyday life without breaking the bank?
Enter the lightbulb moment. Fins Pro Gear was born and the “what ifs” were no more
